Have you visited the Monarch Waystation yet? Now in it's second year, the Burlington County 4-H Pollinator Protectors are working hard to create a butterfly oasis right on the farm. A Monarch Waystation provides milkweeds, nectar plants, and shelter for monarchs throughout their annual cycle of reproduction and migration. Club members started seeds back in April and planted a beautiful assortment of nectar plants among the milkweeds (including sunflowers, zinnia, parsley, hollyhock, and cosmos). Creating and maintaining a Monarch Waystation contributes to monarch conservation, and helps to assure the continuation of monarch migration in North America. Look for the official Waystation sign near our farm fields to see for yourself!
